Relay for Life Luncheon

I got the honor of attending and photographing the Relay for Life luncheon. No matter how you look at it cancer plain sucks. Cancer has never affected me or my close family personally but I have a dear friend who has been suffering with it and she is a true inspiration to me and she is why I will continue supporting and helping out the Relay for Life. Chris you are amazing.
Now on to the event this event is put together by two amazing people with alot of helpers. Shelly Pennington and Melissa Nunn are amazing and are very dedicated to helping find a cure for cancer and raise as much money as possible. Thank you ladies for all your hard work and dedication. You did a fabulous job on everything.

Here is "the Harvey sisters" Christy and Cheryl singing for some entertainment. They have great voices. They have been providing entertainment for the last 3 years. They sang one of my all time favorite songs Grandpa.

This is Melissa's aunt Nedra and she was the guest speaker. She is a survivor having her last chemo treatment in Dec 2007. She definately had a great sense of humor. I enjoyed hearing her story and glad to know she is doing good.

Here you see some attendees playing heads or tails. It's $1 to play and the last one standing won a great door prize. If you picked tails 90% of the time you were a winner. But they got one winner finally.

Somehow I missed a table and it was Happy Birthday by Laurie Urban and Cindy Oard sorry about that. All of the tables looked great. I couldn't pick a favorite but the top 2 in my opinion were the Save 2nd Base table and the Saddle Up table.

The lunch was served by some great kids I know I will leave someone out so I better not mention names so no one gets left out. But I will mention this one. Chase

Chase just recently had cancer removed from his shoulder. He seems to be doing well until mom put her hand on the wound! He didn't like that much. Thanks Chase for helping out.
The silent auction was a great succes.

Steven a senior from South Haven

Mallorie is already 9 months well almost 10 months!

Children grow up so fast. Mallorie is already almost 10 months old. She is so funny. She had some visitors stop by the studio to make sure she was doing ok. Her cousin stopped by and he wanted in the pictures to. It was very cute and sweet they gave each other a kiss. I actually missed the kiss but got the puckering.

Evan turns 1 on Sunday!!

Evan came in for his 1 year pictures this evening. He was perfect! Although this he didn't like it when mom sat him down.

But he quickly warmed up! He was definately full of cute little smiles. He kept playing with his toes also.

It has been a baby month!

It has been one big baby month!! I've had several adorable little ones lately. Here they are...

Lil Man James. James is 9 months old and will soon be playing for the Vikings. James thought we were all kind of goofy. He was adorably cute we tried the snowman outfit he was cute but he wasn't having it!

Miss Madalyn came in for 3 month pictures I'm thinking yellow is her color she looked so cute and it really brought out her eyes. Madalyn thinks I'm funny for a split second because thats all I could get her to smile. Smiles or no smiles we still captured some cute pictures!

Sweet little Relic only 8 days old was so precious. So tiny. I love my job. I love being able to hold these precious babies and be able to capture their life. Relic had to eat before we could get started he thought he was still hungry. The little guy finally crashed after trying to get him to sleep for awhile. I had lots of ideas for him but we didn't get to do them all. But we got some great images. Congratulations Emily and Ron he is precious!

Lil Man Kaeson we struggled with him at first he was hungry or tired or just didn't know what he wanted but then he decided I was funny or wasn't going to give up on him and we got some shots! Ok maybe his belly was just full. I just love his little smile on the Valentines day picture!

Jake was in a perfect mood!! I'm pretty sure we made record time with his shoot! He smiled and giggled! He's already 6 months old. I love watching how they grow and change. Jake I'm so glad you were in a great mood!

Hunter is already 9 months old. It seems like yesterday when I took his mothers senior pictures! It was alot of fun especially when he got down to a diaper! He didn't want any clothes! Little ones expressions are so much fun.

Drake was so cute! He was wonderful I was so exited about his session. He was smiling and this boy wow look at his eyes wow! He brought his cousin in for some pictures together as well. It was alot of fun! Before you know it he will be one!!

Meet Emily. She was Blackwell's New year baby. She was precious. She couldn't have been better. Never cried or fussed. She was perfect!

Meet Mr Kytan he has some gorgeous eyes! He is going to be athlete and they are training him up now. He was alot of fun to shoot.

Wow it has been a long time of non blogging! I appologize for that. I'm pretty sure this year I didn't know if I was coming or going. Thankfully my wonderful husband is back with me at the studio and I'm not trying to do 5 peoples jobs now only 3!Thank you for a wonderful year of 2009! I am looking forward to new things in 2010. New products, new sets, new packages and prices. I super excited! So to kick off 2010! We are going to do best image of 2010 in categories. I have had some people pick out some of the best images from everyones photos and now its your chance to vote! So watch out! Soon as I can get everything loaded on the computer it will start!

Busy Times!! Homecoming!

As most of you know this is one of the busiest times of the year for me. That I am. I rarely do seniors during the week and I'm doing 2-3 senior shoots a week plus 2-4 on the weekends! I love it! However in the busy season you don't always see your proofs in 1-2 days. Please be patient I'm working hard to get your proofs up!
This year is going to be such a hard year for me this senior class I've known most of them since they have started school. My niece is a senior and her closest friends its really hard!
Yesterday I cried like a big baby when our softball girls walked off that field some for the very last time. I'm so thankful that I can be there to capture those memories. Life goes by so fast and I'm trying to hang on to every memory.

Homecoming week is next week and I will be closed Thursday from 10-1 and Friday I will only be here from 9am until noon and will close the rest of the day.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Many women are affected by breast cancer but there is one that is near and dear to my heart. Chris is an amazing women. I met Chris on a photography forum and we went to a meetup 2 years in a row. The first year I didn't really talk to many and neither did she but last Feb. we got really close and hung out the entire meet up. We talk almost daily through a messenger or on the phone. She is an amazing woman. With an amazing support group. I'm so glad to have her in my life and she is going to kick cancers butt! She is going to be able to shoot again. We have one amazing God and Chris I'm telling you... you are going to be ok! I love you lady!

Jacob is involved with many things including football, cheering on our other sports, FFA, and so much more. I had the opportunity to photograph this family while the dad was home on leave from Iraq. His daughter only 3 weeks old was patiently waiting on him when he came back. You'll be seeing more of the baby but we needed their first family portrait before he leaves to go back to Iraq. Thank you Quintin for serving our country. Seniors don't wait until the last minute to get your senior portraits done. The later you wait the colder it gets and the browner the grass and trees turn. If you want greenery now is the time there are still some beautiful flowers. If you are waiting until fall don't wait to book because I'll already be booked. September is already almost completely booked. October only has a few weekend spots available.

Also don't forget about the customized graduation announcements. You don't have to have the traditional same ol boring thing. Get something that fits you and describes you! Here is an example of a folded card.

Another sweet little girl already a year old. Kenzi is a perfect baby. I seriously don't think she has ever cried the entire time I have photographed her. Jakson came in the world 9 weeks earlier than he was suppose to. So for the last several weeks he has been in the hospital growing like a weed and now he is up to 5lbs. Jakson was so wide eyed for me. I'm pretty sure he liked me. His first outting was to my studio to take pictures. I feel so special! Yesterday he left the hospital and I think he looks fabulous! He will be bigger than his mom before you know it and you would have never thought he would have been born so early! Congrats Desiree & Jason and kids on your new little one he is precious.

Anna & Evan you have seen them before on here but last time they were with alot of cousins. Anna is such a cute, smart and sweet girl! She did a great job and I'm very pleased to know that she has a beautiful smile. She built a crayon tower or castle or something while she was waiting for her turn. She did a great job. Jackson and Carly came in today for some new portraits. Carly came in such a great mood. She smiled and smiled until we put her in a tutu and she didn't like it! I'm sure it was itchy but we still got a few. Jackson came in at first he was trying to play shy but then he took pictures like he has never done before. Normally it's not easy getting him to smile but today he was great! When he left he gave me not just one hug but two hugs!! Maybe I made a new friend? Ryan and Cecilia got married this past Friday at the Marland Mansion. It was beautiful. To photograph a couple in love is always amazing. I've got to say this couple is amazing the love they show for each other, the emotion, it was great. Cecilia if you can't tell is gorgeous. She is learning to speak English and did a great job at letting me know what she wanted. Ryan and Cecilia thank you so much for having me I hope that you have an amazing life together forever! The heat is terrible! I can't take the heat anymore it must be me getting older or fatter not sure which. But it's hot out there.
I'm stuck inside my house sick again! This is twice in 3 weeks. I left work yesterday burning up with a fever and in so much pain. I got home immediately went to bed. I woke up at 11am! Yes 11am still sick. So I will be out of the office today. If nothing changes I'll be home again tomorrow. I don't want to spread it because its not fun.

If there was a funniest baby contest Brody would win it. He cracks me up everytime he comes in. He is hilarious! He dances, makes funny noises and just puts a smile to your face. He is now 9 months old and is all over the place. We really needed a video camera in the session because he would have won America's funniest video contest. Logan has been coming here since he was in his momma's belly. It's already been a year. Yesterday he turned one! He was all over the place and wanted everywhere but here. This Easter I was at the First Assembly of God Church shooting family pictures for those that attended church that day. The weather wasn't the greatest but I still shot just over 70 families in less than 2 hours. Last year it was at the high school auditorium and it was so much nicer and not as packed. This year it was at the middle school gym and I just barely had enough room to work. But for the most part everything went great. Here is the pastors picture. Thank you again for having me.

Wow I had the chance to get away for 4 days! I went to a Photography Convention over by Tulsa. It was awesome to reunite with almost 100 photographers meeting old faces and new. I met some amazing people with some rockin talent! It wasn't just to have fun though I did learn alot. We had a photobooth that was so much fun and yes we acted stupid and crazy!

Well I can say I feel really old now. When Jarrad and his mom and dad walked in I wasn't thinking at the time who they were when I booked them but when it came time for the pictures I couldn't believe that I was taking pictures of a baby to a kid I used to babysit. How time flies.
Jarrad is a cute. He gets worn out with picture taking but we did get a few!

Congratulations wrestlers

This weekend was an exciting weekend in Oklahoma City when several boys from around this area were in the semi finals and the finals. Several boys from Kay County placed.
I can tell you that for none of these boys being my own and still get so excited and emotional over it wow. I nearly made myself sick when Joey George was up to wrestle Chaz Mattock. Then it went to overtime and I was sick. I was screaming as loud as his mom that I was sitting next to. His dad reached over and gave me a hug. It was just an awesome moment. I'm so proud of you Joey! Don't you ever let someone tell you that you aren't good enough! Because you just proved it.
We are proud of all the boys. Cole Courtney you did a great job coming back and getting 3rd! Your match for 3rd was awesome. Next year maybe you'll be up there on the 1st spot. Conner Cline and his donkey kicks were hilarious.(You would have to see the pictures) You did a great job and just like Cole you can be standing at 1st next year. Congratulations boys! Being freshman you have a great chance of going along way in your high school years!
Jessy Grace had his final wrestling match of his high school career and he went out a winner. Jessy you are a smart wrestler and a good athlete.We are really proud of you. You have your own fan club. Congratulations on a great job.

There were a few boys from Newkirk that placed in the top 4. I know HWT Summit got runner up. Also 2 Tonkawa boys placed one being runner up. Congratulations! It was a long exciting weekend.
I did take tons of pictures however when I came back Sunday morning my computer which is brand new the screen was black and I am still waiting to hear from the computer people so I will get those up just as soon as possible!

So today I photographed something I'm definately not used to.

Livestock! Not everyday do I get calls for a livestock show. But I had some parents call and want me to come I wasn't able to stay long but it is definately something different! Next time maybe I can stay longer congratulations to the winners and participants.

Madalyn is now 3 months old and growing so quickly. She was a happy baby when she came in for her pictures. Look at this her dad has a story that he did the same thing when he was little well this is her second time so it must just run in the family.
